Birthday Botox

This month marked another candle on the cake and another harsh look in the mirror (where are those damn 10 watt bulbs?) I decided it was time to get a little "pick me up," it was time for Botox. I remember saying in my youth, "I will never wrinkle like those women" (said intelligently while applying baby oil to my face and body). I've been told in recent years I have an expressive face. I thought it meant I had a big smile and bug eyes when I told a story. (translation, whoa you could put a quarter in that furrow)
I asked my man, "do you think I need Botox?" (think before you speak) "I don't think you need it, why?, where would you get it?" (oh, he's good, smooth, very smooth) " I thought I would get some around my eyes" " Do you mean for your crow's feet?" (now, he knows what crow's feet are, he's so dead to me) "Well, I guess." "Sure if you want to". (how supportive) "I'm doing this for me." "Ok, what's for dinner?" (I guess we're done discussing this monumental moment in my life, whatever..) I decided to take the leap and I'm sooo happy I did. I went to the experts at Edina Plastic Surgery. I have three criteria that I needed Therese (one of the injection nurses) to assure me that I would still be able to do following after my Botox.
1) When my man opens the fridge and asks "where's the milk?" (right in front of his face) I need to be able to give him "the look" (no problem she said)
2) When I get carded at the bar, the bartender must insist that it's a fake id, and there is no way that I'm that age. (a girl can dream she said, big tip for any bartender that does say that!!)
3) When my man asks me if I ate the last cupcake, I need to be able to give him a look of surprise and say "who me?" (as crumbs fall from my mouth, no worries she said) Perfect! I'm in!
What to expect: Complete professionalism, numbing cream, a slight poke and maybe a tiny mark where the injection went in. (doesn't hurt)
Who does Botox: Call the Skincare Clinic of Edina Plastic Surgery and ask for Therese, Kristin or Phyllis, they are all excellent with each one having over 10 years of injection experience. (what took me so long?) 952-767-3161.
Gigi's tip: Lay off the ibuprofen and vitamin E a couple days before to avoid bruising. I had no bruising and love my refreshed look!
What's in it for you?: Two lucky winners will receive 50 units of Botox!!! from Edina Plastic Surgery (total value $1400) Each winner will be able to use as little as they want, spread it out over the course of several months or use it all in one visit. ($700 value) Just enter here for the drawing, which will take place on May 19th. You must be a subscriber of our weekly e-Scoop in order to qualify for the drawing. Good luck and good-bye wrinkles!
