"Dirty Laundry"

I'm going to put doing laundry right up there with going to the OB/GYN.  I know I have to do it but I really don't look forward to it.  I lost interest in laundry when my mother was no longer on the other end of the laundry chute. (best invention ever!)   My hatred for doing laundry continued during my college years when I would walk down six flights of stairs in my dorm only to realize I was one quarter shy of a load. (son of a b..!)    When I became a homeowner I was excited about having my very own washer and dryer. This feeling quickly evaporated when I realized my washer had hopped across the room, scraping my wood floors and ripping the hose from the wall resulting in a small pond in my basement. (WTF!!?)   Here are five other "for sures" when I do laundry.
1) I believe there is a sock Gnome and that little bastard is still holding all my best socks hostage.
2) It never fails a red garment always makes it into my white load.  (Soft pink colored towels and underwear for all!)
3) Inevitably my bra will unhook, works it's way out of the lingerie bag and attach itself to my most expensive item forming a knot so complex that even MacGyver couldn't figure out.
4) I will forget to air dry the one cashmere-wool blend sweater worth $200 and end up giving it to my three year old niece. (fantastic!)
5) Static cling has a wicked sense of humor.  My latest run-in with static cling involved me crossing my legs at church and a pair of underwear slipping from inside my pant leg to the floor. (try explaining that!!)
