Sleepless in Minneapolis

Like most human beings, I require a minimum of six hours a night of solid, uninterrupted sleep in order to function as a quasi decent girl on the go. (IV caffeine required)  So, Tuesday night I crawled into bed absolutely exhausted in hopes of seven hours of blissful sleep. (is it Friday yet?) I fell into my deep slumber with a couple major body twitches(those freak me out) and I was abruptly ripped from my REM state by machine gun fire. (wtf!!) Two floors down the TV was blaring and my man was playing a video game. (yes, I know it's not the 90's) I whip off my covers, march downstairs and with arms crossed I look at him and say "seriously?!"  "What?" he replies coyly.  "I really don't care to have dreams incorporating the bombing of Pearl Harbor, so do you think you could turn it down a bit?" The whole time he's working the joy stick like a mad men and yelling into his booth tooth at some prepubescent teen in California about how he's going to destroy him. (nice)  I hop back into bed, heart pounding, take a few deep breaths and drift back into La La land minus the mortal combat background noise.  A minute later (ok, 2 hours) I get a nudge in the ribs, "you're snoring,"  from a dead calm I vehemently deny this absurd accusation, "I don't snore." (more like a loud purr) "Well you are now, rollover." "Fine."  Two minutes go by (maybe three hours) and I find myself in a full on tug o'war over sheets with 200 lbs of dead weight.  I poke him, "I'm freezing"  "well put some covers on" (thanks genius) "I'm trying but you have them all." He slowly unwraps from his cocoon and gives me a corner. (really?!)  The alarm goes off and I roll over wanting to throw it across the room but hit snooze three times instead and crave a full night of sleep.  Do you crave a pick me up after a long night than you have to get the book Crave: The Urban Girls Manifesto to the Twin Cities. (almost as good as a double espresso)
